A Taste of Honey

A Taste of Honey

Fundraising can be a tedious chore, but not when you book a Red House Honey Pot Party. During a fun two-hour afternoon or evening with your friends, colleagues or like-minded individuals, learn everything you never knew about bees and honey, and come away with low-cost, long-lasting, locally made unique gifts for that special someone in your life (or for you).

Red House Honey will attend at your home, office, community centre or other venue, and regale your guests with true-life bee-tales and info, display bee keeping equipment and all-natural bee-related Honey Love Products from our Handmade Honey Shop.

Talks work best with about 20-30 people, who are keen to support your organization, and learn about bees.

How does your organization make money? By charging an admission fee and promoting the evening to a select group of supporters. Red House Honey will also donate a portion of profits earned during the evening to the cause.

Items available can include  Red House Honey Raw/Kosher honey, Red House Honey Farm/Select Apiaries honey, Scrumptious Body Scrub, Luv U Beeswax candles, our famous Honey Love Body Bar, Scrumptious Body Scrub and our unique Bee-Friendly Garden in a Box with a selection of hand-harvested seeds grown in our own gardens. Then there’s our Tender Tea Cozy and Awesome Apron sets….along with sachets of homegrown herbs and herbal teas.

All items can be packaged into our cute and gorgeously romantic Little Red Box. Cost to the host organization? Nothing. You supply the honey-based eats and bevvies and collect the admission fee. Your guests listen to an entertaining talk, get to take a look at our bee-friendly products…and they can tell their friends. There are no sales pitches or pressure to purchase; our products speak for themselves.

Work with us to tailor the event to your specific audience.

A SAMPLE SOME OF OUR PAST HONEY POT PARTIES

HONEY POT PARTY: FUNDRAISERRed House Honey’s Honey Pot Party in conjunction with Refucare Ottawa and the Betty Hyde Co-operative Early Learning Centre was great, buzzing fun last night. About 25 guests came down to the hive (the wonderful, intimate Carriage House on Ottawa’s Osgoode St.) to sample honey-infused delicacies, learn about urban beekeeping and other bee facts, and mull over some of our great honey and bee-related products.

About $650 was raised at last night’s Honey Pot Party for the Syrian refugee family of five (sponsored by Refucare Ottawa)–exceeding our target! Sales from a special selection of Plan Bee’s cute handmade soap and washcloth combos were donated (a few more are still available for sale!) plus some jars of Red House Honey for the nibbles.

Cindy Mitchell, director of the Bettye Hyde Early Learning Centre and a member of Refucare Ottawa announced last night that the group has met their $40,000 fundraising goal for the family’s short-term living expenses. What’s more, the family will arrive in Canada on Saturday, Feb. 27 from Amman, Jordan. A welcome is planned for them though their arrival time and location is not yet known. Everyone involved is quite excited that they will finally meet them!

Thanks to everyone who came out last night, and for your interesting questions! Many people worked hard to make this happen.

Red House Honey’s Honey Pot Party was a smoking success. Held in the charming Old Ottawa South home of L. G., about 12 guests enjoyed white and red Portuguese wines, delicious treats whipped up by the hostess and learning all about bees.

Sinful Soap, a Farm/Select Apiaries Golden or Amber honey) all tied up in our signature “Sweetness in a Little Red Box.”

Guests also ate up our Raw/Kosher honey, Dark/Buckwheat, Amber/Buckwheat Infused and the tiny remaining quantity of White/Wildflower honey.
